Come along to plant trees and celebrate the beauty of nature - it’s National Tree Day - and the Doonan Planting Festival is the place to be, to unite for a greener tomorrow!

The Doonan Planting Festival is all about making a difference by planting three thousand trees, shrubs and ground covers in the Doonan Creek Environment Reserve. By being part of this incredible event, participants will be providing essential food and habitat for local wildlife, such as koalas, glossy black cockatoos and grey-headed flying foxes.

Here’s the important ‘stuff’:

FREE family-friendly event

Plant three thousand trees, shrubs and ground covers

FREE small coffee per adult and other hot and cold drinks to purchase from The Coffee Crew

FREE sausage sizzle cooked by Tewantin Noosa Lions Club

Wildlife display

Live acoustic music by SoLar

Craft activities for all ages

Information Stalls

Buy a native plant and get home planting advice from Coolum Community Native Nursery

FREE park and ride bus from Sippy Downs, Maroochydore and Nambour. Shuttle bus from Peregian Springs State School.

Doonan Creek Environmental Reserve

All activities will run throughout the event period and volunteers are welcome to drop in at any time and for any amount of time during the allocated morning.

Main Activities:

9.10am to 9.30am Welcome to Country

9.30am to 12.30pm Tree planting

9.30am to 12.30pm Live acoustic music

Extra Activities:

9.30am to 12.30pm Create a bush critter using clay and natural seed pods

9.30am to 12.30pm Wildlife display

9.30am to 12.30pm Screen-print your own reusable calico bag

9.30am to 12.30pm Face painting and take a selfie with Frankie the Flying Fox

Unite for a greener tomorrow

All tools, plants, gloves and guidance will be provided. Please bring your own water to drink and wear enclosed shoes and sunsafe clothing. To redeem your FREE small espresso coffee, please bring along your own re-usable coffee cup.

No experience is necessary to participate in the Doonan Planting Festival. Help to spread the word and be part of a positive change for our environment.
