I'm a first time mum and I'm needing some advice and ideas and I'm a little embarrassed to be asking this but I'm struggling to entertain my 13 week old baby boy. My friends keep suggesting that when their babies were this age that they didn't require much stimulation but I feel like my little guy gets bored with whatever we're doing within minutes and gets really grumpy, cries a lot and is often inconsolable by the end of the day. He definitely gets worse as the day progresses and I think he's having enough sleep based on what I've been told and read. I've tried lots of things including different toys, music, funny songs, reading, walks outside, fresh air, lots of cuddles, tummy time, different holding positions, sensory stuff, changing scenery, different bouncers and swings and I always make sure he's fed, changed, not too hot or too cold etc.

Am I doing something wrong or is this normal for this age? Or should I be looking into whether this is a medical thing? I know babies cry a lot but I'd love to hear from anyone else who's experienced a similar thing. My friends aren't a huge help as they keep saying that most of their babies weren't as alert as my little guy at 13 weeks which then makes me worry and I have nothing to compare this to.

Any advice greatly appreciated for this tired and stressed mummy.
